A Beginner’s Guide to Avoiding Scams

When I first started on FeetFinder, I remember honestly thinking that the hardest part was going to be getting good photos, and finding people who were actually interested in buying. I kept seeing people talking about custom requests and how that’s where the real money was, so naturally I got excited.

Things like personalized videos, specific nail colors, certain outfits, or random requests that are unique to each buyer. Since custom content usually pays more, I wanted to start doing it right away.

The problem is I was way too trusting in the beginning.

I didn't realize how many scammers actively look for new creators. The second they think you're inexperienced, they start trying different tricks. And when you're excited about making money, it's easy to overlook things that should probably make you stop and think.

One thing I learned pretty quickly is never send custom content before payment is secured. Seriously, don't do it.

Some people are incredibly convincing. They'll sound professional, tell you they've bought from creators before, and promise they'll pay as soon as they receive the content. Then you send everything over and suddenly they're gone. No payment, no reply, nothing.

Another thing that always makes me suspicious now is when someone wants to move the conversation off the platform. They'll suggest Telegram, Snapchat, or some other app because it's "easier." Sometimes they'll even offer different payment methods and make it sound like they're helping you.

Most of the time, that's a huge red flag.

Once you leave the platform, you lose a lot of the protection that's there for a reason. If something goes wrong after that, you're pretty much on your own.

I've also had people try weird payment scams. One person claimed they accidentally sent too much money and wanted me to send part of it back. Another said I needed to pay a small fee first before a larger payment could be released. Neither of those situations made any sense.

These days I keep things simple.

If someone wants custom requests content, I only use the platform's official order system. Before I film anything, I make sure we both know exactly what's being requested, how much they're paying, and what they're expecting.

And most importantly, I wait until the payment is confirmed before I do any work.

Only after that do I make the content and deliver it through the platform.

Custom requests on Feet Finder can definitely be one of the best ways to earn money, but protecting yourself matters too. A lot of scammers count on beginners being either too excited or too nervous to say no. The longer I've been doing this, the more I've realized that protecting your content and your time is just part of the job.
